OUR CLUB
OTTAWA SHORT MAT BOWLS CLUB was established in 2018 and began play in December 2018. The club is a member of District 16 of the Onario Lawn Bowling Association and the Canadian Short Mat Bowling association. It is incorporated as an Ontario Not for Profit Corporation that opperates independently from any lawn bowling club in the Ottawa region but strives to maintain a close cooperative association with all Clubs.
The club started play with 2 short mats loaned to us by the Nepean Lawn Bowling Club. The Club then expanded thanks to the loan of a third mat . Thanks to government assistance in 2021-22, the club now has 4 mats available for play.
The Club has several bowlers who are competative and have played in the Canadian Championships. However the majority of our players are here for the enjoyment of the game and the chance to socialize with other members. Everyone is welcome.
